How to sound like you speak Russian
Note that you won't be able to speak Russian fluently after this, but you will know a few words and how to make some up on the spot that sound right. Don't try and fool someone who speaks Russian! Also, some European languages are similar to Russian (ie Polish, Croatian) as they share a few words. This may also make it hard, but you should get away with it. I've copied the small dictionary below from a site (users.iafrica.com/c/ca/captainm) which is worth looking at.
If you don't know much about Russian, you won't sound as authentic. Say everything in a Russian accent (not too strong!) as it will help. V is pronounced like a breathy W (almost a V sound, but not-let your teeth touch your lip lightly for the right sound). If you want to make up words then Zdr-, -ya are good syllables to put in...don't use -ski as it sounds fake. Say 'a' hard, as in Bat, 'i' as in Bit, 'e' as in Bet, 'o' as in Bot, and 'u' as in Lute (gotcha). This is a very, VERY simple guide to sounding Russian. If you want to sound really good, do some research.
As a side note when incitatus' says 'Na Zdrovia' in the first Manky Cat comic it means 'Good Health' and is a Russian toast.

This is Russian for those who do not want to learn it but happen to be the only non-Russian speaker within 1000 miles. Russian is not as easy a language as Chinese, not as many children speak it!
