125 g (4oz) butter
125 g (4oz) dark chocolate
2 eggs
1 cup caster sugar
1 cup plain flour
2 tablespoons self-raising flour
3/4 cup chopped pecans or macadamias
Place butter and chocolate in a saucepan over very low heat and stir until mixture is just smooth.
Place eggs and caster sugar in a bowl and beat until mixture is pale and thick. Fold chocolate mixture, sifted flours and nuts through butter and eggs and pour mixture into a greased 20cm (8 inch) square cake tin (I used a biscuit tin). ÊBake in a preheated 180 degrees celsius (350 degrees fahrenheit) oven for 30 minutes or until brownies are set. ÊAllow brownies to cool and cut them into squares.
Makes 12 squares.
