STYGIAN

Stygian is a unicorn stallion and he was the strategist for the Pillars of Equestria. However, due to not getting his share of the limelight and his misguided attempt to gain powers of his own, he turned to the darkness and was consumed by the Pony of Shadows. As that powerful wraith, he started on a campaign of revenge upon those who had rejected him. The Pillars eventually stopped his rampage by trapping him and themselves in limbo, only to be released centuries later by Twilight Sparkle and the Element Bearers. Stygian was eventually freed from the Pony of Shadows and the dark creature banished forever. Stygian now lends his strategizing skills wherever Equestria needs them.
