RAINBOW DASH

Rainbow is pegasus mare with a bright blue coat and a multicolored mane and tail. She is an extraordinary flier having performed a sonic rainboom at a very young age.

Rainbow is the Bearer of the Element of Loyalty which, in combination with the five other Elements worn by Applejack Apple, Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie, defeated Nightmare Moon and restored Princess Luna.

Rainbow was among the first ponies to befriend Mark Wells and later grew closer with him when he was transformed into Marklestia and was able to match her in the skies. She later extracted a promise from him to sire a foal when she was ready for one. Meanwhile, her ambitions had her focused on becoming a Wonderbolt, eventually gaining entry and working her way up the ranks. She eventually succeeds Spitfire as Captain of the Wonderbolt squad.

Her ambition did not prevent her from growing closer with Applejack, resulting in her asking the mare to marry her which Applejack accepted. Much later when Applejack expressed a strong desire to have a foal, Rainbow used her promise from Mark Wells to be her proxy and sire a foal for her wife. A filly was born whom they named Orchard Breeze. A couple of years later, a second foal was was requested and granted, and this time Applejack bore a colt who was named Suncrisp Apple. However, Mark informed Rainbow that their next foal would be born by the pegasus. Rainbow accepted that, but is not ready to put her career with the Wonderbolts on hold yet for pregnancy.

Rainbow Dash has counterparts in the anthro universe and the reverse gender universe.
