NYX SPARKLE

Nyx is an alicorn mare and the adopted daughter of Twilight Sparkle.

Nyx is not a natural pony, having been born of a cult's attempts to reincarnate Nightmare Moon in an alternate universe. When Twilight and Mark Wells arrived in that world during their conflict with Starlight Glimmer, they were still under the misapprehension that they were in an alternate future rather than a different universe. The local Twilight who was still just a unicorn, feared that their world would cease to exist when Starlight's meddling with history was undone, so she convinced Mark and his Twilight to take the young filly with them.

Nyx wore special glasses that made her slit-pupil eyes look normal so that she would suffer from prejudice in her world, but did not need them in Mark's universe. She grew up happy and secure in Ponyville with Twilight. She was also made an honorary Cutie Mark Crusader. Now a young mare, she is trying to decide what she wants to with her life.
