Chapter 3 is the current point in the story I have written up to. From now on, mailings will be a bit slower, and the text problem should no longer exist. The Ageless Chapter 3: Lockes master plan. I woke up that morning at around eleventh hour. By now I felt that my body had succesfuly adjusted to its new chemistry, and had adjusted my waking up reaction accordingly. I usualy considered myself a morning person, cheerful and usualy easy to get along with. However, today I felt like the insane toutin bitch from the fifth circle of hell (ive been there). I lay in bed wanting to beat up someone, but my house was empty. Instead, I just lay in bed, soaking up what little scraps of morning sunlight were left in the sky. Even lying in bed, I barely recognized myself. My tail was much shorter than before,I was also about six inches taller, and not to mention a few more obvious features. Finaly after about fifteen minutes I decided it was time to get up and face the day, mainly because having that awful morning taste in my mouth was no longer bearable. As I got up to stretch, I gasped as I saw my new body in the mirror. A look of extreme vanity welled up inside me like a spring of mountain water. As I said before, this body was the result of hundreds of years of arcane study and experimentation. I crated the strangest biological mistakes that the gods would tolerate in creating this. The end result was this form with the ultimate charisma, I knew from experience that no one could resist my looks. My chest could only fit in custom made brassires and my body fur was bright as an ogrange, completely free from discolored fur or skin imperfections. The hair of my head flowed around me like a river of red silk threads. I looked in my mid twenties, very young yet with some maturity. This was truely my most succesful attempt at research. To explain my female identity further, I had created an entire background for Corelle in case anyone ever asked. Since my usual persona in public is that of a male vulpine, I pose as proffesor Locke's slightly older sister. I was a very succesful owner and operator of the Sky Fox advetising agency. The Sky Fox advertising agency is a buisness I whipped up. Yet at a whim, I could set it up and running within five minutes. Enchanted astralphones make very good secretaries, and computers with certain runes etched into their logic banks can print out any document needed in thirty seconds. After taking a very long midmorning shower (I cant begin to tell you how awkward that felt), I staggered into my ladies bedroom where I faced the toughest choice of the day. What the hell do I wear?! I had several choices. I had a robe from the rebirthing era (I'll talk about that later on), It was a pretty purple robe with light green designs that almost glowed. But it hid my figure, so that ruled it out. I had about twenty different bikinis and swimsuits in my closet, sheesh! Completely out of the question unless I wanted to be a furry naturalist (quite common really), same thing would apply if I wanted to go with nothing. My room was filled with tossed aside clothing worth an estimated cost of 2 million gp (equal to about 10 million dollars). Some of these outfits came from altogether different time periods. I finaly decided on a maroon colored earth style ladies buisness suit. I had it custom made to match my hair. On my feet were black leather ES (earth style) high heels which made that lovely little tapping sound as I walked. Sitting down at my vanity mirror. I pulled out a huge box filled with jewelry from a hidden compartment (im not telling where). All of the jewelry in that box was enchanted by me in some way. Earrings, neckalaces, thigh and ankle bracelets, everything. With this jewelry, though, I could make myself smarter, faster, stronger, wiser, and most important of all, prettier. Just a couple of ear studs, a thigh band, and an ankle bracelet, and I was done. That would bump my score of from one to ten past twenty. A wave of excitement rushed over me. In my feminine mind I was no longer attracted to Eva, but just regarded her as an old friend that I shared a lot of experiences with. That was going to help a lot. Yet a nervous feeling overtook my nerves. I found the buisness card Eva left on my computer desk. It couldnt be helped that I had to stare at the name printed on it. As I sat down to dial the number I began to feel uneasy. The what ifs started bugging me at full force. What if my story dosent hold up? What if she just knows its me? What if she says something only I would know and I react to it? The doubts that crossed my mind were awful. My shaky hand dialed the number, as the phone began to ring my furnbegan to clam up. I felt scared, scared and alone. My heart jumped and I almost hung up when I heard someone picking up on the other line. "Hello! Thank you for calling Eva Consulting! How may I direct your call?" A young, perky voice greeted me. Dammit! Eva had good receptionists, I felt as if I was a spy infiltrating an enemy base. It made me think about how the receptionists at the university are so much more... bland. They always sound as if they were just shot with boredom filled darts. I swear an animated corpse would have more feeling. My mind raced with bits and pieces of information to use. Slowly I pieced together a good response. Taking a deep breath, I began. "Hallo!," I greeted back , "Could I be directed to Ms. Eva please hun?" I tried to make my voice sound strong and spoiled, as if I knew the world had to cater me. I was doing a pretty good job, and congratulated myself. "Of course! May I please ask whos calling?" was the reply. It took me a second to remember what it was I was soposed to be doing. "I am Corelle, the owner and operator of the Sky Fox ad agency." I quickly madde a hand gesture in the air, and the sounds of a busy office filled the house complete with phones rining, furs typing, and the sounds of office talk. Personaly I prefered to be comforted by the sounds of a beach, but an office was necessary. The secretary paused for a moment, a doubly dreaded moment. Maybe Eva was not taking any calls today, after all yesterday seemed to be awfuly stressful to her. Or the secretary might know there was no such thing as the sky fox ad agency. However, there was no way for her to find out for sure, for unlike earth there was nowhere to register buisnesses. It was capitalism at the purest form, how you say... liasse-faire. My heart felt lighter when the receptionist finally told me to hold on, but I didnt feel much better. I was on hold for what seemed like an eternity. I tbegan reflexively tapping my claws on the computer desk. Out in the hall I heard the sound of two males laughing at something. "Shut up!" I yelled. "Sorry mam," They replied, footsteps echoed through the 3rd floor hallway and headed downstairs. Good sound illusions are so hard to find I tell you. I felt a bit better after yelling at someone, even if they didnt really exist. I began to feel out of control in the situation, as my fate was probobly being decided by Eva herself. What if she said yes, what if she said no? Maybe it was a mistake calling the very next day. I jumped as the other line picked up again. Then I heard something behind me. "Ms. Corelle, could I get you to look over this?" Another male voice asked me. I looked behind me instinctively, no one there, just as I thought. I turned my head away from the phone, but made no attemptps to muffle my being heard on the other line. "Could you please come back later hun? I'm obviously busy right here." I explained to the nonexistant employee. "Alright, noo problem." was the reply. Again footsteps echoed in the direction of the downstairs. I turned back to the phone, "I'm sorry dear, just a minor issue." I said. "Oh.... err... Ms. Eva wishes to speak to you." I suddenly became overly excited. "YEAH!" I shouted, quickly covering my mouth, my eyes now wide with fear. Souldnt have done that, shouldnt have done that, dammit... I quickly tried to think of an excuse of why I just let out that burst of emotion. "I'm sorry?" the other line inquired. "Oh, I apologize hun, my vp's wife just had her baby. A beautiful little female. I was just really happy for him." I lied. "Ahh, well congrats for him. I'm directing you call now." The phone clicked and was silent. I began to think about how much I hated using little titles like 'hun' for others, but it was necesary. I was a rich, hot little vixen and I had to let everyone know it. During the silence I began to get quite interested in my tail. I loved fox tails, they just looked so neat. I felt like I had accomplished something great, but the hardest part was yet to come, I had to face my incerdibly long past. The phone clicked on the other line, every muscle in my body twitched. "Vie ritru Locke." I heard. I felt my senses nearly drain from my head, I couldnt see, hear, or say anything, she knew! I was caught completely off guard by the greeting on the other end, I nearly said the same thing back. After a moment my senses returned to me. Did she really know? It could just be a little thing she started saying today to see if I'd call. Her trap was clever, but this archmagi wasnt going to be beguiled into any snare by a mere illusionist, even if her name did make me swooon. "Im sorry hun?" I asked back, trying to sound confused. The line was silent agian for a half a mintue. "Oh! Uhh its nothing heh heh heh." The fur on the other line said with feigned laughter. "Hello, how can I help you?" That funny little girl, I admired her attepmts at warding me off. Running, disguises, traps, hiding, it was all for a reason I have yet to understand. "Are you Ms.Eva?" I asked with false annonimity. I knew the answer already, but it was a necessary question. "Yes, I am Eva, what can I do for-..." I cut her off unintentionaly. "Good. Yesterday I was taking my lunch hour at the Lor dredoria, you know, that really good Ellecinian cafe." The more I spoke the less nervous I became. "Yes..." Eva began to sound uneasy, her voice trailed off. I would imagine she would know what I was getting at. "Well dear, after having a lovely meal I heard some commotion over at the table nearer the sidewalk. I looked over in time to see a young lady running into the midday walking traffic. At the table she left I saw the strangest looking young male." It was the perfect story. "Uh-huh." I heard. I could tell she was getting very uncomftorble. "Anways after a few minutes the strange looking fur left, leaving beind on the table a black box. I waited awhile to see if anyong would come by and pick it up, but nobody took it. So I did, but when I was getting ready to leave, I noticed a buisness card on the table that belong to your firm with your name on it." "Has the box been opened?" Eva asked me, her voice filled with the fear of uncertainty. " I dont think so dear, but Im not one to pry." I lied again, "It just isnt my buisness to know whats inside. All I want to know is do you want it back?" "Yes I would really appreciate it." Eva said with a bit of releif. "Alright then sweety."I said, "If you can give me your address I will give it to you personaly when I get off work." Sometimes though, it was fun to talk like a girl and not feel guilty. With estrogen flowing through my veins it seemed completely natural. So far my plan was working ot perfectly, but it was only going to get more difficult. Eva gave me her address, and one whose street I recognized. Very high class. I wrote it down, chuckling to myself with the sweet feeling of success. "Alright then I'll be around at say... twenty second hour." I announced. We said our good bye and hung up. The time was 12:26, I had a lot of time left. I sighed, I might as well teach a class today. I went back to my bedroom to recheck my appearance. Chapter 4: A slip into the past. Coming whenever I finish it. I know the story isnt very exciting right now, but I promise it will get better.
